This counted cross stitch kit is of a glider, a Janus C/CM built by Schempp-Hirth of Germany, designed by Klaus Holighaus (hence the initials) used by the Air Training Corps for advance glider training. The RAF roundel on the fuselage can be omitted if desired.

The design contains only whole cross stitches - no part stitches - and a few back stitches, protruding from the tailfin. Available only with 14 count blockweave Zweigart brand Aida in Sky Blue. The kit also contains DMC stranded cottons in 10 colours, ready-sorted on a thread organiser with the key, needle, easy to follow charts, small scale and large scale, and in colour with the symbols, full instructions for beginners and specific instructions for this kit.

The finish cross stitch will measure 13.6" x 4", 34.6 cm x 10.2 cm, will fit a frame without a mount measuring 15" x 7", 38.4 cm x 17.8 cm, or a frame with a mount measuring 18.5" x 10.5", 47 cm x 26.7 cm.

The glider is a high performance two seat tandem sailplane built of carbon fibre. The Janus C is launched by either winch or powered aircraft. The CM is self-launching, with a mast mounted engine retracting into the fuselage. Hence both the C and the CM look the same in flight.
