Counted cross stitch of B-17 Flying Fortress, Sally B. The UK's last airworthy B-17, in Memphis Belle colours.

Contains only whole cross stitches - no part stitches - and some back stitches. Stitched measurements 11.6" x 7.6"/29.5 cm x 19.5 cm.

The finished embroidery will fit a frame measuring 32 cm x 22 cm (12.5" x 8.5") without a mount, or 43.5 m x 33.5 cm (17" x 13") with a mount. Standard fabric is 14 count white blockweave Aida. 28 count evenweave 100% Cashel linen available as option for £3 extra.

The Sally B was built at the Lockheed Vega factory at Burbank, California in 1944 as a B-17G-105-VE. She became the star of television and cinema, being used extensively in the series We'll Meet Again appearing as Ginger Rogers, and starring as several B-17's including, in the final scene, the aircraft Memphis Belle in the 1989 film Memphis Belle. For this film she was modified to become a B-17F.
