Counted cross stitch of Dakota, the C-47 version of the DC-3, indispensable in WW2 as in the supply missions to Arnhem for which Flt Ltd David Lord was awarded the Victoria Cross, after the War in the Berlin Airlift, and still flying today.

Contains only whole cross stitches - no part stitches - and some back stitches. Stitched measurements 12.3" x 5.7"/31 cm x 14.5 cm.

The finished embroidery will fit a frame measuring 32 cm x 22 cm (12.5" x 8.5") without a mount, or 43.5 m x 33.5 cm (17" x 13") with a mount. Standard fabric is 14 count white blockweave Zweigart brand Aida. 28 count evenweave 100% Cashel linen available as option for £3 extra. The kit also contains DMC stranded cottons in 13 shades, ready-sorted on a thread organiser, needle, easy to follow charts, both small scale and large scale, instructions for beginners, and instructions for this particular kit.

The DC-3 was the ubiquitous transporter built by the Douglas Aircraft Company. It was indispensalbe in World War II, as in the supply missions to Arnhem for which Flt Lt David Lord was award the Victoria Cross, after the War in the Berlin Airlift, with both USAS (known as Skytrain) and RAF C-47's playing major roles, and is still flying today in some parts of the world.
